The story
The Annual Alumni Yearbook is a celebration of connection, achievement, and community, bringing together stories and milestones from across our alumni network. This edition held special significance as it was the first alumni yearbook released following the merger, marking a new chapter in the two firms shared history. It not only reflects
the legacy of both institutions, but also represents a unified vision moving forward—honouring the past while celebrating the strength and diversity of our combined alumni community.
It was a remarkable achievement to be chosen as the first designer to handle this project from conception to print.
Concepts
The first stage of the alumni yearbook project focused on developing a range of creative concepts to guide the overall look and feel of the publication. This involved exploring different visual directions—each reflecting a balance of tradition, legacy, and the fresh identity formed post-merger. Mood boards, layout styles and colour/monogram options were presented to capture various tones, from abstract imagery to unique and vibrant animals. These initial concepts helped shape the visual narrative and ensured alignment with the new brand while honouring the alumni community’s rich history.

To help the client better understand how each concept theme would translate visually, I showcased potential page layouts alongside the design concepts. These mockups demonstrated how typography, imagery, and branding elements would come together across various sections of the yearbook, providing a clearer picture of the overall look and flow. This approach allowed for more informed feedback and ensured the final direction aligned with both the creative vision and the client’s goals.
